Reuters has partnered Facebook to create a free online course in manipulated media for journalists. Manipulated media is basically videos, pictures, and audio that have been manipulated to mislead consumers of media and sometimes even journalists themselves.
Reuters created this course to share its experiences and help other journalists catch up to newer ways that manipulated media is being used, so they can spot it.
As part of the course, journalists will learn:
- How Media can be manipulated
- The new threat of DeepFake /Synthetic Media
- How to deal with the problem of Manipulated Media
