News.co.zw automatically maps what approved Zimbabwean news sources are reporting and shows which stories are receiving attention. It does not independently verify every linked report.

How stories enter the map

Editors approve every publisher. The system checks each publisher’s RSS feed and uses its sitemap only as a backup. It stores the original headline, publication time and direct source URL.

How clustering works

Closely related reports published within the same news cycle are grouped into one story page. Every original headline remains visible, and readers leave News.co.zw through direct links to the publisher.

How ranking works

Ranking considers unique click velocity, freshness, the number and diversity of publishers, shares, saves and reactions. Editor’s picks are labelled and appear only when an editor has selected something.

Corrections

Corrections are displayed on the affected story with a timestamp. Readers and publishers can use the report an error form.
