The State is expected to decide on whether or not to accept the withdrawal of Walter Magaya‘s rape charges after the complainant submitted an affidavit seeking to drop the charges.
Magaya is expected in court today before Magistrate Vakayi Chikwekwe as part of his remand routine and the State is expected to decide on whether to proceed with the case or set Magaya free. In a letter accompanying the withdrawal affidavit addressed to the Acting PG, the woman indicated that no one had forced her to withdraw the charges. She vowed never in her entire life to pursue the case again.
In her withdrawal papers the woman urged both parties to respect her decision.
